ACCESSIBLE SCAFFOLDING PORTSMOUTH SERVICES, CALL 02393 190182 TODAY
UK Scaffolders is one of the leading scaffolding companies in Portsmouth. We deliver professional, reliable and prompt scaffolding solutions at low costs and we’re dedicated to offering affordability in a tough economic environment. We offer a full consultation on the jobs you need to be carried out and we can help you to work out the scaffold and tower structures required within budget – even if the project demands a full scaffold design.
We have assisted domestic and business customers to manage their home extensions, housing developments and industrial factory renovations at suitable prices. Our impressive portfolio demonstrates how versatile our scaffold services are.
It’s important that the scaffolding services you use are accessible in terms of price and physical reach. By this, we mean that the towers or access scaffolds we construct will allow trade workers to reach even the most awkward parts of a building. With the knowledge and qualifications of our scaffolders, it’s possible to use the right TG20 compliant tubes and fittings to create almost any kind of scaffolding Portsmouth tower for just about any type of purpose.
Deploying health and safety conscious erectors
Thanks to the likes of our registrations and affiliations with CHAS and CISRS, UK Scaffolders is able to meet the high standards of current health and safety regulations. Through a combination of outsourced expertise, updates from websites and guidelines and external training courses, we can create and maintain an ongoing health and safety awareness programme.
If you are checking the details of a number of scaffolding companies, ask them about the training that they provide to their scaffolder teams. Do they support their scaffolders to achieve advanced training and qualifications? Do they provide regular and refresher training in the likes of first aid, site safety, manual handling and asbestos awareness?
In addition, you should ask questions about the experience of the supervisors who conduct the inspections on the scaffold structures. Our supervisors are qualified to the required level so that they can check a wide range of complex scaffolds and provide the right type of advice. It’s essential that supervisors have the knowledge to identify potential hazards and resolve them quickly so that project managers can give the green light on the start of the work wanted.
On top of this expertise in technical knowledge, all good scaffolding hire firms will provide a wide number of options in terms of safety scaffolding features. Available products include safety netting, edge protection, harnesses, scaffold tags and brickguards. In addition, because of the vulnerability of residential and commercial works in progress, more manufacturers are producing effective scaffold alarms. UK Scaffolders provides full alarm systems where needed to protect properties, whether they are rental apartment blocks, offices or shops.
The importance of versatile scaffold work
As we mentioned above, we understand how difficult it has been for consumers and the construction sectors in particular. However, that hasn’t reduced the number of services that we deliver and has reinforced our commitment to offer cheap deals wherever we can. From temporary roofs to chimney scaffolds and from temporary stages to independent scaffolds for listed buildings, you should expect the scaffolding Portsmouth company you use to be able to meet all of these requirements, and much more.
In terms of legislative compliance, you should check that your scaffolder can obtain a licence on your behalf if the scaffolding will intrude upon pavements or streets and provide all the signed risk assessments you need at a reasonable cost.
Our focus is on customer care as much as on our professional services, which is why we chose some time ago to offer a 3 month hire period as standard, a weekly inspection service and free competitive quotes. Appropriate insurance cover in such a potentially hazardous area of work is essential and we believe that our £10 million public and employee liability policy allows us to act as suppliers on even the largest projects.
Scaffolding Portsmouth Portfolio
It’s only fair that potential customers get to view examples of previous projects undertaken by the scaffolding company they’re thinking of hiring. Here are some of our recent work examples:
New build pharmacy, Portsmouth
Director Glen Pearce was involved at the design stage to provide a scaffold solution for the construction of a new steel framed building. Access scaffolding was provided for the rising brickwork and blockwork to the external walls and edge protection handrails were erected from powered access, including a ladder access tower to install the new roof covering.
Access platforms were provided to a high level stairwell and all lifts were boarded and handrailed for the renewal of the glass and cladding. We covered the scaffolding with monaflex sheeting to protect the building while the work was carried out. A beamed gantry was also erected at low level to span over the lower roof to enable the structure to be erected.
New build housing site, Portsmouth
Progressive scaffolding for new build houses and flats was provided, including loading bays for the storage of materials. We built birdcage scaffolds at all floor levels to act as edge protection while the floor joists were installed. Once the new roof was installed, we adapted the external scaffolding to include boarded working lifts to allow trades contractors to undertake rendering and tile hanging work.
Portsmouth train station
Glen Pearce worked on this project to provide a hanging scaffold positioned underneath the existing platforms for the refurbishment of the steelwork. The scaffolding was connected to the lower steel work using steel clamps and a fully boarded work platform was installed using alloy beams to span across the platforms to provide a safe working area. A Haki staircase was provided to access the hanging platform from the station area above.
Balcony work, Portsmouth
As part of a Portsmouth Council refurbishment project, we built scaffolding on the rear of a large block of flats so that the balcony coverings could be renewed. The scaffolding covered ten storeys and included boarded lifts and a ladder access tower. The structure was tied to the building using Hilti type ties, drilled to the building for stability.
St Mary`s Hospital, Portsmouth
Design scaffolding was erected on the existing wing of the hospital, with all lifts boarded up to roof level for window replacement. A temporary roof scaffold using a pre-fabricated roofing system was provided to cover the occupied building while a new roof covering was installed. A goods hoist was used to move materials from ground level to various levels for the window replacements and new roof installation.
Southern Water, Portsmouth
We provided scaffold platforms inside the water works so that cooling fans could be renewed, with fittings hung from the walkways positioned inside the water tanks. Tube and fitting scaffold platforms were provided, with all lifts boarded and handrailed to access the fans. Ladder accesses were also provided inside the hanging platforms to gain access to the work.
New build swimming pool, Portsmouth
A scaffold birdcage was used to cover the swimming pool area, using alloy beams to span across the open area, and was fully boarded to enable the mechanical and electrical contractors using aluminium towers to gain access to the roof. The boarded deck was double boarded with plastic in between to protect the new swimming pool and ply boarded to make a flat and level surface for the alloy towers to move across.
